THINK ON IT: Are you a disruptor?
There's a certain mystique about disruption. Companies that disrupt markets and bring down the Goliaths of industry through innovation convey a cult-like status on their leaders. Jobs, Bezos, Gates, Musk have all earned a place in the mythical Disruptor Hall of Fame.
But what about the rest of us? Few of us will ever lead that kind of market disruption.
Yet, the most important disruption you can lead is that of challenging the status quo of your business. What you have in common with these aforementioned titans of disruption is the ability to not accept the way things are. If you are truly leading a company towards the best version of itself, you must be advocating for change.
There will be resistance to that challenge. Change of any kind, but especially change of perspective, always brings resistance. But the strength of a leader is measured by the degree of change they can successfully navigate with their team.
Now is not the time to rest on your laurels, however successful your company may have become. Now is the time to be a disruptor. A self-disruptor.
What change do you need to lead in your business? Where do you need to go next, regardless of how hard it is to get there?
