WWMRBD? What would my reference brand do?
Asking this question could lead you toward your next big idea.
THINK ON IT: What would my reference brand do?
Role models are important. They establish what's possible and inspire us to dream and pursue our dreams.
Role models in business are important too—for the very same reason. Successful companies demonstrate what can be done, often in innovative ways.
What brands stand out to you as role models for you to emulate in your business? Think outside your industry: who exhibits the kind of product quality you want to have? Or the type of customer experience you want to deliver? Who would you be honored to have your business compared to?
Then ask yourself, "If the leader of that company were leading mine, what would they do?” Go crazy. Gather as many ideas as you can. Create a list without passing judgment or dismissing any idea as too big or too wild or too hard.
It could be that your next big idea was there all along, just waiting for a role model to lend you some inspiration: "What would my reference brand do?”
